Vrindavana And Mathura
Vrindavana and Mathura are the most important places of pilgrimage for the devotees of Krishna. Lord Krishna was born in Mathura and spend his childhood in Vrindavana. There are over 5,000 temples in Vrindavana.
Krishna Balarama Mandir
This beautiful temple was constructed twenty-five years ago. There are deities of Gaura-Nitai, Krishna Balarama and Radha-syamasundara over here. In front of the temple is the samadhi mandir of Srila Prabhupada. This was the place where his body was laid after he passed away in 1977. The house where he lived has been turned into a museum.
Sri Krishna Temple
The Sri Krishna Temple is one of the most important and richest temple in the whole of south India. This temple is fully dedicated to Lord Krishna and is known by the name of Guruvayurappan. The deity of Lord Krishna is said to forgive the sins of all his devotees. The deity is about 5000 years old.
The ritual of Tulabhram is a very common sight here where the devotees donate quantity of materials that equals the weight of their body. The worship of the temple is being done by the Nambudri Brahmins who live within the temple.
One of the major attractions of this temple includes the magnificent deity of Lord Krishna. The temple is comparatively smaller in size than the other south Indian temples and is entered through the east direction. In the middle of the temple is located the central shrine called the Shikoli
